In one of the design lessons, we had to design a wallet for Ali from the video. While watching the short movie Ali, we had to choose three things that are very important for Ali when choosing a wallet.
After watching this video, I’ve chosen three Ali needs:
- Ali wants a wallet that can feel and is in the front pocket of the pants.
- Ali wants a wallet that does not lose its flexibility so that nothing will fall out of it.
- Ali wants a slender wallet that has id space and at least four cards, a separate pocket for bills, and an outside pocket for receipts.
After identifying these needs, we focused on one problem which was a wallet losing the elasticity from which things fall out. The next step was to design the idea to solve this problem, so we started sketching the solution. Our task was to sketch four tasks, independent of feasibility.
After sketching four examples of the portfolio for Ali, we had to choose the one that best suits the needs of Ali and explain the decisions during our selection.
My choice is sketch No. 4 because it is a safe wallet and only Ali will be able to open it using a fingerprint. The wallet has an external pocket for receipts, inside it has a place for ID and four pockets for cards has a separate pocket for banknotes. The wallet is closed so nothing will fall out of it. The battery has a very long life because it is only used when scanning fingerprints. The wallet is very handy and can be easily put in the front pocket of trousers.
I think this is the best wallet for Ali from my sketches and he will be happy with its use.
